Abstract
The qualitative research is aimed to study the lifestyles of migrants from Cambodia before coming to work in Thailand and the adaptation of migrants from Cambodia while in Thailand. The research uses an in-depth interview only with Cambodia workers at KSC Construction Co, Ltd. who can speak Thai and work for more than two years.
The study found that mostly the way of Cambodia workers life before coming to work in Thailand worked originally in an agricultural part. And the other jobs were such as employment, trading, and working at the nearby neighboring countries which were in good relationship level. The family relationship was in close which could empower each other. In term of culture, Cambodia is similar to Thailand, for example, Khmer New Year which falls on the Songkran Festival of Thailand. The belief was based on unique in terms of superstition; paying respects to the ancestor, putting the magic jewelry or a tattoo, belief in fortune.
Adaptation of Cambodia migrants found that they started to learn for adaptation from remembering, learning, and practice testing together with asking people around them to take note. Socially, the practicing in Thai language communication was for making their relationship at the same time. The cultural adaptation was not obvious because of the similarity culture.
