Inheriting Rongngeng-tanyong Performance by using Traditional Posture Instructional Media

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to explore elements and format of Sripakbang Satul Province Rongngeng Tanyong Group and to study the traditional dance posture for inheriting. The study was a qualitative research by documentary method and field survey method which are interview, observation and learning from folk wisdom teachers. The results of the study were 1) The elements of Rongngeng Tanyong were youth dancers who were passed for the Rongngeng Tanyong posture, Malayu costume, music instruments which are violin, gong and rammana. The format of the show was as same as the traditional dance but they had adjusted the performance to single show format. 2) The researcher used video presentation and manuscript which were published on Thai-Malayu Performing Arts Database Website (www.tmperformance.org/rhtanyong) as an instructional media. The quality evaluation of traditional posture instructional media from 5 experts in performing arts, music and technology showed that the instructional media had the highest quality and the results of the satisfaction evaluation from 100 samples which are education personnel, cultural officers, students and general public showed that they had the highest satisfaction on the instructional media.
