Model of Close Binary System
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research studies the physical property for model binary and considers the period change to analyze the evolution for CE Leonis, Is is a contact binary system with orbital period of about 0.303 days. The observation had observed in January-February 2009 at Princess Sirindhorn Observatory, Chiang Mai University. The observation used 0.5 metres Ritchey-Chretien reflecting teflecting telescope and CCD Photometer SBLG ST10-XME 1024 × 1024 pixels with blue, visual and red filters of UBV system. Willson-Devinney program was used to analyze the light curve for computing a set of system’s parameters. The solution shows that CE Leonis is a contact binary system with inclination (i) mean 87.4 ± 0.4 degree and mass ratio (q) mean 1.99427 ± 0.00743. The mass ratio has been change from previous published paper with q<1. This would imply that the binary system CE Leonis has W-type. The solution shows that CE Leonis is a contact binary system.
