A Development of Trust Indicators on Directors of Primary Schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the North-eastern Region of Thailand

Abstract


          The objectives of this study were 1) to develop trust indicators on directors of primary schools under the office of the basic education commission in the North-eastern region of Thailand and 2) to examine the goodness-of-fit of the developed structural model of trust indicators on directors of primary schools under the office of the basic education commission in the North-eastern region of Thailand with the empirical data. The study was conducted into 3 phases. The first phase was the construction of research conceptual framework and the drafting of trust indicators. The second phase was the development of trust indicators on primary school directors with the application of modified Delphi Technique in 3 times. Lastly, the third phase was the goodness-of-fit examination of the developed structural model with the empirical data. The data was collected from the sample group of 420 primary school directors by using a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. Data analysis was done by using LISREL software and confirmatory factor analysis. The study revealed the results as follows.1) Trust indicators on directors of primary schools of 6 main components, 28 minor components and 141 indicators, which could be further classified as follows: 37 indicators on competency, 24 indicators on morality, 20 indicators on moral characteristics, 24 indicators on leadership, 20 indicators on assimilation and 16 indicators on the features of the director. 2) The developed structural model of trust indicators on directors of primary schools showed goodness-of-fit with the empirical data with Chi-square at 230.56, df value at 199, p-value at 0.06198, GFI at 0.96, AGFI at 0.92, RMSEA at 0.019, the result was in accordance with the author’s hypothesis.
