Abstract

This research aimed to study the learning achievement and research skills of the fourth year students in the Faculty of Education at Yala Rajabhat University, enrolled in the course of Education Research in the first semester of the academic year 2015. 43 undergraduates were chosen by simple random sampling. The instruments used in this study were comprised of a 40 items of learning achievement test in Educational Research course, and an evaluation questionnaire of research skills which was composed of four skills, i.e., searching skills, analysis skills, synthesis skills, and questioning skills. The data were analyzed by identifying mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The research findings found that: 1) The students’ average of learning achievement were 21.84 points or 72.79 of full scores. Thirty students or 76.74% of total number of students received their scores passing criterion as 70% and up, passing the specified criterion. 2) The students’ average scores of research skills were 15.14 points or 74.63 Thirty students or 86.04% of total number of students received their scores passing criterion as 70% and up, passing the specified criterion.
