Abstract

The integration of database system and internet provides a better way in storing, retrieving and modifying data. In order to employ information technology system for improving its academic activities in the university, this research aims at developing e-Files system by using free softwares, PHP language and MySQL database. There were 115 respondents participated in this study. The SPSS for Windows package was used to measure the users’ satisfactions in 6 aspects. The data were collected from online questionnaires. The results showed that only 25.2 % of the respondents satisfied with the system because the majority of them were dissatisfied with limited capacity in storing data. While the satisfactions in each aspect showed  the following results: user friendly 94.8%, appropriate user manual 91.3%, accuracy of system in storing data 90.4 %, flexibility in storing data 84.3%, security of data 68.7%, and sufficiency of capacity in storing data 54.8 %. The female users are more likely to be satisfied with the system when compare to male users (p value = 0.024).  The results indicate that there is a need to provide more capacity in storing data for the system and implication for further study related to e-Learning, e-Document, e-Faculty and e-Office.
