Yala Rajabhat University Attitudes towards Students the Importance of Malay Language in ASEAN Community and Guideline for Developing the Teaching Malay language

Abstract
This article aimed to study Yala Rajabhat University Students’ Attitudes toward the Importance of Malay Language in ASEAN Community and to propose the guidelines for developing the teaching and learning of Malay language bardon feedback from students to improve teaching Malay to be more efficient. The sample consisted of 397 students from Yala Rajabhat University. The instrument was 5 likert scale quality questionnaire which was compound of three parts. The questionnaire survey of students conducted in 3, general information, attitudes of students and suggestions. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation. The results showe Yala Rajabhat University students attitude towards the importance of Malay language in ASEAN was at a high level in all three aspects. The attitude of knowledge, thought and behavior which was high shows that Yala Rajabhat University students have a positive attitude toward the importance of the Malay language in ASEAN Community. Recommendations to better improve teaching and learning Malay are to teachin teach Malay language in accordance with the context of the learners especially the content due to their different Malay language learning background and to participate in activities with students in the classroom to make learning Malay more efficiency.
