Development of Model and Software Module for Ethical Behavior Improvement and Assessment Regarding to Learner’s
Main Article Content
Abstract
E-Learning is the instructional system using electronic multimedia devices to manage learning on the Internet by using the Learning Management System or LMS software as a tool for learning management. The system was emphasized on learner-centered and self-paced learning. Thus, the learning achievement of the learner depends on learner’s ethical behaviors regarding to their learning responsibility. The purposes of research were; to examine the factors and correlation of learner’s ethical behaviors regarding to their learning responsibility in e-learning environment, to synthesize and develop the improvement and assessment model of learning responsibility behavior and to construct a software module from model and install the new software module into Moodle system. The research procedures were; to investigate theories, documents and research related, to install the Moodle LMS and create a new course in Moodle system for instruction, to investigate the factors of learning responsibility behavior in e-Learning, to synthesize and develop the improvement and assessment model of learning responsibility behavior, to evaluate model by experts and to construct the activity module software called the “response module” from the complete developed model and install the new response module into the Moodle system. The factors investigation of responsibility behavior was done by using behavioral test for data collection. The sample used in this research was 718 e-learners at Yala Rajabhat University. The finding revealed that; the most of learners was female (75.80%), they were the second year learners (43.30%), they were studying in the Faculty of Science and Technology and Agriculture (37.20%), most of learners used to study through e-Learning system at least 1 course (37.30%), the learner had a fair level in computer using skill (57.50%) and had a moderate level in computer accessing (69.90%). With regard to the learner’s opinion in behavior improvement method, it was found that; most of learners agreed to the method of warning or suggestion messages (52.60%) and then the method of reporting behavior score (41.50%). The results of factor analysis of learning responsibility behavior were divided into 4 factors; 1) the punctuality factor was 13.65% , 2) the diligence factor was 12.52%, 3) the intention factor was 11.05% and 4) the work acceptance factor was 14.00%. All of 4 factors can indicate learner responsibility behavior for 51.22%. Each factor significantly correlated with learner responsibility at .01. It also showed the highest level on the developed model that was suitable for software module development ( = 4.52±0.16). After completely constructing the software module from this model, it was found that it can be installed into Moodle system properly and can calculate behavior score, translate to behavior level, give suggestion for behavior improvement and report all information correctly.
