Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem in the world, both in the developed and developing countries. If patients could not control their blood pressure, it may be a major modifiable risk factor for damaging the target organs such as heart, kidney, and brain. Patients will prone to acute complication from hypertension i.e. cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, heart disease, and renal failure. The complications may be the leading cause of death. Screening and early treatment can significantly reduce the incident and medical care costs. There have 4 screening patterns i.e. the health care volunteers’ participation can lead to sustain the hypertension prevention and control; social network lead the high risk individual has the opportunity to share the screening pro and con, home visit by health care provider is the effective pattern for controlling hypertension, and student volunteers. Moreover, the pre-hypertension people could receive the early treatment in the early stage of illness. Therefore, this article serves to details on hypertension, screening, and the patterns of screening.
