Motivation of Breast Self - Examination Among Female Muang District, Chumphon Province

Abstract

The Breast Self-Examination is easy, the convenience and economic for detecting early breast cancer by every woman can check with oneself. The motivation of Breast Self-Examination will testify minister of Breast Self-Examination behaviors was regularly and continuousness for the prevention of disease desirable behavior. The purposes of this research were to study the motivation of correlation with Breast Self-Examination behaviors and the motivation of cognitive predictor of Breast Self-Examination behaviors. Samples were 398 females of aged 35-60 years old in Muang district, Chumporn province. Using cluster random sampling. Research instruments were a rating scale questionnaires with reliability at 0.86. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS for Windows. The results indicated as followings : The motivation of Breast Self-Examination composed; accepted violence of the breast cancer, accepted self ability of the Breast Self-Examination and oneself specification of the reast Self-Examination were in moderate level (X= 42.17, S.D = 5.48, X=26.82, S.D = 6.50, X=30.01, S.D = 5.29, respectively) and the Breast Self-Examination behaviors in moderate level (X= .452, S.D = 6.10). The accepted self ability of the Breast Self-Examination and oneself specification of the Breast Self-Examination had the positive relationship with the Breast Self-Examination behaviors which had the significantly in the statistic at .001 level (r = .599, r = .452). The forecasted Analysis in the motivation of the breast Self-Examination behaviors of samples could be explained; the accepted self ability of the Breast Self-Examination and oneself specification of the Breast Self-Examination could be explained and forecast the Breast Self-Examination behaviors of samples at 38.70%. This research results were the information for breast cancer prevention and the strategy in reinforcing to the according of the motivation of Breast Self-Examination.
