Behaviors of Coated Para Rubber Shell Aggregate Concrete Blended Modified Zeolite
Main Article Content
Abstract
Global climate change scenario leads to lightweight concrete used in worldwide. Because of atmosphere effects reduced into buildings. This research was carried out modified zeolite (MZ) as Portland cement replacement material on the physico-mechanical properties of concrete containing coated para rubber shell aggregate (CPRSA). Natural zeolite and MZ were substituted for ordinary Portland cement. Type I in the proportion of 15, 20 and 25%wt. MZ and uncured and cured in water for 28 days. CPRSA concrete properties such as, volumetric drying shrinkage, water absorption, bulk density, electrical resistance, Shore hardness and compressive strength were determined. Also, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope were analyzed selected concrete specimens. Experimental results indicated 25%MZ at 750OC of CPRSA concrete obtained highest compressive strength of 13.65 MPa. However, CPRSA concrete with MZ of this study can be potentially developed
to a structural lightweight concrete.
