Prevention and Control Communicable Diseases Management in Border Areas of Thailand in the Future

Abstract

The problem of communicable diseases spread out in Thai border areas has necessary to find solutions to prevention and control in the future, by using the Ethnographic Delphi Future Research (EDFR) technique to considerate the way to prevention and protect the communicable diseases spread out management in Thai border in the future. The sample was purposely selected to include the 24 experts of public health officers and public health technical officers who worked at the border checkpoint and possessed the knowledge and experience which not less than 5 years. The data collection instruments included interview and questionnaire. The interview and questionnaire analyze by statistical methods as follows: Median, Mode, The different between mode and median, Range and Quartile. The prevention and control communicable diseases management in border areas of Thailand in the Future must have 5 domains as follows: 1) The state of society at the border of Thailand; 2) The situation of the communicable diseases in the border areas in Thailand; 3) The implementation of International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR 2005); 4) The operation of Thailand Surveillance and Rapid Response Team (SRRT); and 5) The management of communicable diseases prevention and control. The realize domain which possible to do recently to use in the future is to implement the international Health Regulation to reduce the communicable diseases spread out in border areas.
