The Development of Measurement Model of Senior High School Students’ Happy Learning Characteristics
Main Article Content
Abstract
Happy learning would help students reach their potential and achieve their learning targets effectively and successfully. It was, therefore, important to study variables indicating students’ happy learning characteristics. However, the previous researches had made several findings identified factors affecting the happy learning characteristics. This research aimed to develop factors and indicators, and to assess the validity of measurement model of the happy learning characteristics. A “Multi-stage Sampling” method had been used to randomly select the samples: 1,100 senior high school students. Moreover, the data had been collected by using questionnaires and analyzed by using EFA and CFA. The results revealed that there were 20 indicators for assessing the happy learning characteristics divided into 3 factors involving internal personality (INT), pursuit of learning (PUR), and social life skills (SOC). The result of CFA regarding the measurement model of happy learning characteristics showed that the factor weight as the standard score (β) varied from 0.441 - 0.966. All factors were statistically significant at a level of 0.01. The most important factor was the SOC factor reflecting 93.30 percent of variance. Next were the PUR factor reflecting 76.1 percent of variance and the INT factor reflecting 19.40 percent of variance. The measurement model of the happy learning characteristics was, furthermore, in line with the empirical data consisting of Chi-square as follows: = 188.593, df = 164, = 1.14, p -value = 0.09, CFI = 0.994, SRMR = 0.036, RMSEA = 0.016.
