Desirable Characteristics of Developer Teachers and Developer Teacher Development Models

Abstract
This article studied the desirable characteristics of developer teachers and model for building developer teachers based on analysis and synthesis of 5 award-winning national and international model teachers and articles. The study found that the essential characteristics of developer teachers were teachers’ spirits, life skills, occupational skills, and multi-social skills. The way to build developer teachers with the desirable characteristics was applied from Bloom’s concept of psychomotor development including 5 stages; 1) self-perception 2) change awareness and life plan 3) obstacle detection and effort for success 4) strong determination and 5) alternative choices. There were 4 suitable activities for enhancing and corresponding to the stages for developing characteristics of developer teachers which were 1) activities for desirable characteristics 2) discussion activities 3) activities with technology, innovation and online social media 4) self – learning activities. The above model for developer teachers enhancement will be an effective guideline for teaching institutes to develop qualified developer teachers.
