Need Assessment and Guidelines of Development for Innovative Leadership: Teachers in a Private School in Ayutthaya

Abstract
This research aimed to explore need assessment and guidelines for developing innovative leadership of teachers in a private school located in Ayutthaya Province. Using sequential explanatory mixed design sign, the sample of this study 275 teachers. the instrument for quantitative data collection was a questionnaire on the current and desirable conditions for developing innovative leadership of teachers. Quantitative data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and priority need assessment index. The qualitative data obtained through the in-depth interviews with the three educational administrators were analyzed using content analysis. The results, according to the priority needs index, from the most to the least, were as follows: 1) transformational leadership; 2) team work and collaboration; 3) vision for change; 4) creative thinking; and 5) organizational climate creativity. The guidelines for the innovative leadership of teachers were composed of: 1) transformational leadership with six guidelines 2) team work and collaboration with four guidelines; 3) vision for change with four guidelines; 4) creative thinking with four guidelines; and 5) organizational climate with four guidelines. Accordingly, the school administrators can use the guidelines, obtained from this study, to concretely apply for the ultimate benefits of elevating the educational quality of teachers and school as truly become the leaders in innovations as well as educational innovative organization.
