A production of Short Film to Enhance Awareness and Self-Esteem for Undergraduate Students at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi

Abstract
Awareness and self-esteem play an important role in an adolescent’s life. Lower self-esteem and awareness can cause negative consequences, which contribute to the failure of adolescents to adapt themselves to society. The purposes of this research were 1) to produce the short film to enhance awareness and self-esteem for undergraduate students at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi 2) to evaluate the quality of the short film and 3) to study of student satisfaction of the sample group towards the short film. The sample in this research was selected by accidental sampling method, a sample of 30 undergraduate students from the first semester of the 2023 academic year at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The research tools were 1) the short film to enhance awareness and self-esteem 2) the questionnaire to assess the quality in the short film and 3) the questionnaire to assess the satisfaction of the sample group towards the short film. Statistics for data analysis were mean and standard deviation. The results of the research found that the short film to enhance awareness and self-esteem, with a total length of 32 minutes, were well-received. They were considered to be concise, easy to understand, contemporary, and interesting. The evaluation of the quality was very good ( = 4.53, S.D. = 0.50). Meanwhile, the satisfaction survey was at the highest level (
= 4.58, S.D. = 0.55). These results suggest that the short film made to enhance awareness and self-esteem is beneficial to assist the audience to confront an uneasy situation by themselves, encourage the audience to take trial and error and inspire the audience to value awareness and self-esteem.
