Samantapasadika : Worthy Manners in the Ariyavinaya

Abstract

          The Samantapasadika is the scripture expounding on the Vinayapitaka. It called the commentary of the Vinayapitaka of the Theravada Buddhism. In this commentary, there is the essence of the social sciences and development of the Tipitaka in Ceylon. In the introduction, the authors  specify that the scent of decorating outline gets the drift from the old exegesis of Ceylon there.


          The word Ariyavinaya is related with the Samantapasadika. Ariyavinaya is monastic rules laid down by the Buddha. In this society, there is difference identity with other institute at that time.


          Now, the Samantapasadika is used as the classical textbook of the Pali grammarians in Thailand  in Pali VI, Pali VII, Pali VIII   classes.
