Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study designing and developing of pearl decorative souvenir that respond to the needs of customers and utility of products in ๕ modern styles by further development from the existing products.             The sample group was Ban Nonglad, Thonnalab sub-district, Ban Dung District, Udon Thani province. Research tools were in-dept interview and questionnaire to be guidelines in designing and developing of pearl decorative souvenir using local wisdom and fashion design to develop the career and community products accompany with Community of Arts Practice (COAP) in order to achieve development based on self-wisdom which creating ๕ souvenir products and data from questionnaires would be used to create the pearl decorative souvenir.


The results of designing and developing of pearl decoration products and the opinions of ๑๐๘ tourists found that the pearl decorative souvenir was at a high level (Mean = ๔.๒๑). The pearl decorative souvenir should be applied and developed based on original community production method by using local material and the needs of tourists or consumers.  Application results and product development of souvenirs - from the interview, inquire the experts, local experts, community product specialist - found that ๕ prototype products were created with a high appropriate level (Mean = 4.71).
