Research on ICT competency of school administrators under the Office of Primary Educational Service Area 1 and under the Office of Phetchaburi Primary Educational Service Area 2

Abstract

          The purpose of this research is to (1) study the ICT competency level of primary school teachers under the jurisdiction of the Office of Primary Education Area, Prachuap Khiri Khan District 1 and Phetchaburi District 2, and (2) study the components of ICT competency of school administrators in the group of primary schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Primary Education Area, Prachuap Khiri Khan District 1 and Phetchaburi District 2. The sample group consists of 101 randomly selected teachers from different grade levels. The research tool used is a questionnaire with approximately 5 levels of measurement. The data analysis involved basic statistical analysis, including finding the mean, standard deviation, and examining the correlation between the variables studied using Pearson's correlation coefficient.

          The research findings indicate that (1) the overall ICT competency level of school administrators is high. When considering each aspect separately, it was found that the competency with the highest average score is the skill in managing school data and long-distance communication. The second highest is the skill in integrating ICT for school management, and the lowest is the basic computer skills. (2) The confirmatory factor analysis of the basic ICT competency of school administrators showed that the fit indices of the model met the criteria. The RMSEA, RMR, SRMR indices were less than 0.05, and the GFI, AGFI indices were greater than 0.95. Therefore, it can be concluded that the basic ICT competency is consistent with the empirical data.
