Development of Digital Technology-Enhanced Facilities Management Processes in Educational Institutions

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) examine the current situation, problems, and needs of facilities management using digital technology; 2) develop facilities management processes using digital technology; and 3) evaluate the implementation of facilities management processes using digital technology. A mixed-methods research design was employed. The target group consisted of 40 participants. Research instruments included questionnaires, an appropriateness assessment form, and an implementation evaluation form, with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.975. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, PNImodified, and content analysis.

          The research results revealed that:

          1) Regarding the current situation, problems, and needs of facilities management at Santisuk School, Doi Lo District, Chiang Mai Province, using digital technology, major problems identified were complex repair request processes and unclear roles and responsibilities, with the highest needs being real-time repair request systems and preventive maintenance.

          2) The developed facilities management processes at Santisuk School, Doi Lo District, Chiang Mai Province, using digital technology comprised five components: planning, organizing, operations, control, and evaluation. Key systems included repair request systems, data management systems, budget management systems, reporting systems, and communication systems.

          3) The evaluation of facilities management processes implementation at Santisuk School, Doi Lo District, Chiang Mai Province, using digital technology indicated high-level results, particularly in reducing work time and automated repair request systems, resulting in high user satisfaction. However, further development is recommended in organizational structure and interface design to enhance efficiency.
