The flood management of Warinchamrab Town Municipality by community based: Case study of fourteen communities were affected by flood

The research’ s purposes are to study the terrain of communities affected by food, problems and impacts of flood, communities’ capacity in flood management, role andapproach ofpublic sectors, private sectors,and communities in flood management, and to recommend the approaches in flood managementbycommunity based. The qualitative methodology and Participatory Action Research (PAR) were operated in this research. The data was collected through interview, surveying, observation, training, and conference. The key informants are the executives andofficers of Warinchamrab Town Municipality and communities’ leaders and villagers. The results revealed that communities managed flood by self-assistance; before, during, and after flood, for example,evacuationassets, building the temporary residence,supplyingboats by themselves, and cleaning communities after flood.
The approach in flood management by community based is Warinchamrab Town Municipality consider to what are communities’ requirements and how many Warinchamrab Town Municipality’s capacity for building the consistency between the communities’ requirements and Warinchamrab Town Municipality’s capacity which will lead to the efficiency flood management and respond to communities’ requirements.
