The conditions in Production and Utilization of Media for Preparing Readiness to Enhance Mathematics Basic Skills for Early Childhood Education

The purpose of the research was to examine practice of the early childhood teachers concerning media production and utilization for enhancing mathematics skill of the kindergarteners. The data were collected from 284 early childhood teachers in 4 Chiangrai Primary Educational Service Areas. The data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed by using frequency, percentage and standard deviation. The findings of the survey were summarized as the followings: 1) The large amount of teachers age were between 31-35 years (22.5%), respectively, teachers position were “expert teacher” (37.7%), short-time hired teacher (24.6%). Most of teachers hold bachelors’ degree of early childhood education (34.51%), and elementary education (20.77%). Only 177 teachers (62.3 %) were assigned to teach in accordance with their professional expertise. 2) The research result revealed that teacher production and utilization of media were in the highest mean score in the determining objective step (=4.19). 3) Most practical media used by teacher were real object, model and exercise sheet. 4) Problems as related to creating and using media for readiness preparation was fractions. 5) Misconceptions of mathematical content led to the teachers’ difficulty in creating media.
