Abstract

This article explores the opportunities and challenges of public service innovation in Thailand within the framework of the Thailand 4.0 policy. The study highlights the increasing significance of service innovation in the public sector, which is supported by rapid economic, social, and technological changes. Public organizations must adapt to meet citizens' changing needs.  The implementation of public service innovation in Thailand faces both significant opportunities and obstacles that need to be addressed to ensure sustained and widespread progress. This article proposes the ‘THAI-G as a framework’ that public sector organizations in Thailand should promote service innovation, such as cultivating an innovation culture, developing the skills of public sector personnel, improving supporting infrastructure, forming partnerships with other sectors, and adjusting laws and regulations to encourage innovation. The study's findings provide significant suggestions for enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of public services in Thailand, thereby contributing to sustainable national development.
