The Application of Qualitative Research Techniques to Classroom Research in Physical Education

Abstract
This article aims to present the application of qualitative research techniques to classroom research in physical education. The qualitative research is a systematic study of facts by investigating the occurrence or situation thoroughly to answer the empirical facts such as perceptions, values, beliefs, attitudes, and learners’ behaviors. The research methodology consists of research problems identifications, research objectives definitions, scope of study, research variables, research procedures, and samples. Method and data collection included observations, interviews, and significant event description. The data were then verified for reliability, analyzed through content analysis approach, and summarized for the results. Conducting and designing research by using qualitative research techniques results in various dimensions which will be beneficial for improving the quality of learning management in physical education. In addition, the results of the study can be used to develop learners’ qualities to achieve learning objectives and expand further knowledge about research methodology in classroom for physical education teachers.
