The Students’ Satisfaction towards the Service of Cafeteria at Thaksin University, Phatthalung Campus

Abstract

This research aimed to study and compare the satisfaction of undergraduate students towards the service of cafeteria at Thaksin University, Phatthalung campus. The satisfaction was classified by sex, year of study, faculty, and frequency to access the cafeteria. Including the
study of why students do not use the cafeteria. The samples of research were 343 undergraduate students of Thaksin University who enrolled in the second semester of academic year 2014,which samples were derived by the method of stratified sampling. Data were collected by using questionnaire with the reliability at 0.971 and statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Welch test, and Kruskal-Wallis test. The results of this research were as follows. The satisfaction towards the service of cafeteria at Thaksin University, Phatthalung Campus was the moderate level. There was significant difference at .05 level in satisfaction when classified by year of study and faculty. The first and the fourth year students had the satisfaction higher than the second and the third year students and students of the faculty of Science had the minimum satisfaction. There was no significant difference in satisfaction when classified by sex and frequency to access the cafeteria. The reasons which the students do not use the cafeteria were there are not a variety of food and drinks, not satisfied the taste of food and drinks, not satisfied the cleanliness of food and drinks, and tables and chairs were not enough.
