Fabric and Costume Identity of 5-Star OTOP Business of Amphoe Muang Yala Province

Abstract

This research was aimed to study fabric and costume identities of 5-star OTOP businesses of Amphoe Muang, Yala province.  The research was a qualitative issue.  Data collection was performed via in-depth interview of 5-star level entrepreneurs selected as tops of One Tambon One Product categorized in fabric and costume businesses of Amphoe Muang, Yala province, which totaled to 5 entrepreneurs. Interview instrument was formed with 5 parts comprised of developed product type, product identity, original concepts of identity, production process according to identity, and results after product development according to identity. The in-depth interview information derived was brought to perform analysis, synthesis, comparison, and rational descriptive writing. Results of the research were as follows. 1) Product identity of Aduenan Batik business was 3-color-layer technique marble print design batik. 2) Product identity of Kae Batik business was 3-color-layer technique Saba banana print design batik. 3) Product identity of SriYala Batik business was Palanging fabric with wooden-block technique and mixed culture design. 4) Product identity of Muslim Women Relation Hijab Needlecraft Group business was real bawa hijab and Swarovski crystals, dense-stitched perforated rose print design with silk sewing stuck. And, 5) Product identity of Buenae Youth Batik business was modified rose print design batik using natural color material. When the identities of fabrics and costumes were synthesized, it was seen that they were originated from selection of quality and distinct materials, print design and story reflecting identity, and application of distinctively advanced manufacturing technique.
