Happiness Development Pattern of the Elderly in Maha-Sarakam Province

Abstract

This research pattern was a development research by mixed methodology research which carried out on basis of the four following objectives; 1) To study the happiness of the elderly in MahaSarakam province. 2) To study the factors, affecting the happiness of the elderly in MahaSarakam province and 3) To create the happiness development pattern development of the elderly in MahaSarakam province. Samples used were 399 elderly, obtained by stratified proportional and simple random sampling. Instruments used in collecting the data were a rating scale questionnaire with the reliability value at 0.96. Statistics used were; Frequency Percentage Mean Standard Deviation Pearson’s Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The findings of the research found that the happiness of the elderly in Maha-Sarakam province in overall was found in medium level. The factors in this research 11 factors were statistically significant with R = 0.91 and R2 = 0.87 which the most 3 influenced factors were Mental competency factor, Family relation factor and Social and friends factor. The happiness development pattern of the elderly in Maha-Sarakam province, consisted of the 9 activities  had been consented by 17 elderly experts with the median value > 4.20 in all activities which shows the appropriateness of the happiness Patterns of the elderly in Maha-Sarakam province.
