The Integrated Subdistrict Economic and Social Enhancement Project in Yala Province

Abstract

The grassroots economy plays an important role in sustainable social development. This study examined factors that affect success, analyzed and evaluated success, and identified obstacles and challenges in Yala Province's integrated subdistrict economic and social enhancement project which conducting from experts involved in the University to Tambon Building Glass Roots for the Country project and utilizing by a mixed-method approach were quantitative and qualitative data in a parallel plan and link the two characteristics together. The study reveals that factors affecting project success included knowledge and understanding of participants, budgets for support, resources available in the community, and the role of development partners. Based on the evaluation of the indicators, the results include 1) the development of livelihoods and the creation of new careers; 2) success in constructing, growing, and boosting the local and regional economy; 3) the ability to apply knowledge to serve the community; and 4) success in promoting the environment and generating community renewable income were consistent with the quantitative analysis and the organization’s purposes. One of the most common problems, the project were too short. As a result, it was recommended that the project implementation time be extended to ensure continuity of development. To expand the project's success, the factors affecting the success of the project may also be applied to outreach in other similar communities.
