Guidelines for the Academic Administration of Small Schools in the Northern Krungthon Group under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to (1) study the current and desired states of academic administration of small schools in the Northern Krungthon Group under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), (2) propose guidelines for the academic administration of small schools in the Northern Krungthon Group under the BMA. The sample consisted of 59 small schools in the Northern Krungthon Group under the BMA. There were three respondents from each school: one school administrator, one head of academic affairs, and one teacher, totaling 177 respondents. The key interview informants were five school principals under the BMA. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an interview form. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified), and content analysis. The research found that (1) The current state of academic administration was, overall, at a moderate level, and the aspect with the highest mean was the development of media, innovation, technology, and learning resources. The desired state of academic administration was, overall, at the highest level, and the aspect with the highest mean was the learning management. Regarding priority needs in academic administration, the aspect with the highest Priority Needs Index was school curriculum management. (2) The guidelines for the academic administration of small schools in the Northern Krungthon Group under the BMA comprised five aspects, namely: school curriculum management, learning measurement and evaluation, learning management, internal supervision, and development of media, innovation, technology, and learning resources.
