Abstract

The purposes of this research article were to study the level of students’ self-conduct on morals and ethics and the variables affecting the their conduct on morals and ethics. It was a survey research. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a rating scale  of 5 levels. 89 students from the Faculty of Education in the academic  year 2559  were the target group. Statistic analysis included mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, simple correlation coefficient, multiple correlation coefficient and squared multiple correlation coefficient. The results of the analysis showed that level of students’ self-conduct on morals and ethics, was in  general at high level conforming to the research hypothesis. Correlation coefficient between independent and dependent variables had positive relationship, which conformed to the research hypothesis. Multiple regression of the independent over the dependent variables was only at the level of participating in activities enhancing morals and ethics. The level of environment in the educational institute and the students’ level of understanding Buddhist principles affected the students’ level of self- conduct on morals and ethics statistically significant at  .01 level which confirmed the hypothesis. For the independent variables, self–conduct according to Buddhist principles, relationship among friends, and the moral and ethics perception had no effect on the students’ self –conduct on morals and ethics, neither did conform to the research hypothesis
