The Holy Abidings as Conceptual Guiding Principles to Buddhist Research

Abstract

     The main objective of this paper is to discuss the applicability of the framework of holy abidings to Buddhist research. The writer had studied this topic to confirm that holy abiding is a model of general research. That model is to see the problems or suffering (equanimity), to express good wishes (loving-kindness), to get to help someone with problems or suffering (compassion), and to express congratulatory greetings to others (sympathetic joy). That subject bears the same meaning of seeking the truth which is a cause to get new knowledge and new evidence and to bring to research in an infinite way.
