A Study on the Faith of People Who Come to Worship tha Buddha Phaisachaya Guru Vaidunyaprabha, Physician (Phra Kring Pawaret) at Somdet Phu Ruea Ming Mueange Temple, Loei Province

Abstract

          This research entitled “A Study the Faith of People who come to worship Buddha Phaisachaya Guru Vaidunyaprabha, Physician (Phra Kring Pawaret) at Somdet Phuruea Ming Mueang Temple Loei Province” has two objectives: (1) to study the background and importance of Buddha phaisachaya guru in Mahayana Buddhist scriptures, (2) to study faith of people who come to worship Buddha Phaisachaya Guru Vaidunyaprabha, physician (Phra Kring Pawaret) at Somdet Phuruea Ming Mueang temple lovi province. This research is qualitative research. I studied scriptures and interviewed 30 people in the field of Somdet Phuruea Ming Mueang temple.

          The findings of the study demonstrated that (1) Buddha Phaisachaya Guru and Phrakring are similar. Faithful people believe that the Buddha Phaisachaya guru can heal diseases, therefore people worship and concentrate the Phaisachaya Buddha. Buddha Phaisachaya is built extensively. (2) People are interested in the story of building great Buddha image, make merit at the temple. Somdet Phuruea Ming Mueang temple are placed amongst the mountains. Buddha Phaisachaya Guru Vaidunyaprabha is its chapel, which is architectonically beautiful. For that, the faithful people come to adore Buddha Phaisachaya Guru Vaidunyaprabha at Somdet Phuruea Ming Mueang temple Loei province, as a result, tourism in the province Loei is good.
