Water management model according to the sufficiency economy philosophy by the participation of community at Wang Hman sub-district Wat Singha district Chai Nat province

Abstract

          The aims of this research are: (1) to study ecological landscape on water for agricultural householders at Wang Hman sub-district Wat Singha district Chai Nat province (2) to study water management process for agriculture of community and (3) to study management model of water for agriculture of community at Wang Hman sub-district Wat Singha district Chai Nat province. This is participatory research. It collected qualitative data by interview group seminar and public opinions from communities’ leaders, community members, and 20 of related people. Methodology to be used in this research are inductive and deductive management as well as sufficiency Economy Philosophical views.

          The findings of the research are as follow. (1) there were 3 types of ecological landscape on water for community. 1) About geography, this area was the shape as inverted pan, the agricultural landscape was lowland and high, and the ground was shallow. 2) For occupation, their own main occupation were agricultures. There was adaption on climate change. Water for agricultural activity maybe dry and flood in the same year. 3) For water source, the agriculturists do their agricultures by natural water. Some got the water from irrigation canal. As for the water supply, they mostly got from public reservoir and artesian well. (2)Water management process for household agricultures had been done by community and local leaders. There was the plan and policy yearly set out by public and private organizations. It was also cooperation with other organizations on water management. There was guideline and support on the tool in water management. It also has an assessment for preparing water situations, suppling of water resources for increasing of water source and amount of water storage. Moreover, there was plan and policy on water management to be efficiently in each year. (3) The model of water management for household agricultures was the management by local wisdom, that is; 1) knowledge resource management, that should be done for the power to solve the problem and development of community. It was composed of collecting data on community, alternative career and risk assessment. It was also knowledge creativity on their own ability, community’s ability and practice guidelines.  2) human resource management, that was man management to be community of practitioners. There was cooperation, career change and the development create value. Moreover, there was also adaptation of knowledge for self-reliance, integration, and collective adherence in community.
