Leadership Competency Development for Capacity Building of Management Consultants
Main Article Content
Abstract
This qualitative research aimed to study the leadership competency development for capacity building of management consultants. The study employed qualitative research methods, with key informants being senior executives or management involved in leadership competency development for management consultants from educational organizations, food businesses, service businesses, and retail businesses. Eight participants were selected using purposive sampling (one participant) and snowball sampling (seven participants). Data collection was conducted through semi-structured in-depth interviews using narrative techniques. The data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis methods.
The research findings reveal that the development of leadership competencies to enhance organizational management consultants' capabilities can be summarized as "WISDOM" - the use of intelligence, comprehensive knowledge, professionalism, and ethics for organizational development. This consists of six key components: W - Workplace Excellence (specialized expertise in industry or socio-economic sectors); I - Innovation Creation (market analysis, change management, and strategic decision-making); S - Strategic Thinking and management; D - Development Mastery (professional skill development, knowledge, and experience); O - Organizational Leadership (human relations and adaptability); and M - Management Skills (ethical and professional standards, credibility, and trust). All components must operate in harmony and promote each other.
