Abstract

         This research article has four objectives: (1) To study the current situation of the development of student teachers' competence to become learning managers in the Thai language teaching program. (2) To design the development of teachers to become learning managers for student teachers in the Thai language teaching program, Faculty of Education. (3) To experiment with the development model for student teachers' competence to become learning managers in the field of Thai language teaching, and (4) To present the development model for student teachers' competence to become learning managers in the field of Thai language This research was used as a research and development (R&D) study. The sample group was 155 students from the Faculty of Education, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and content analysis.


         From the research study, it was found that (1) the current situation of the development of student teachers' competence to become learning management specialists in the field of teaching Thai language, overall, the students' current situation is at a high level (𝑥̅ = 4.02, S.D. = 0.96). (2) Designing the development of teachers into learning managers for student teachers in the Thai Language Teaching Program, Faculty of Education, found that The components of the competency model for student teachers to become learning managers include principles, objectives, steps, formats, measurement and evaluation, and conditions for success. The results of the evaluation of the competency model of student teachers interns towards learning management professionals, overall, found that it was at a high level of appropriateness (𝑥̅ = 4.41 S.D. = 0.56) and was at a high level of feasibility (𝑥̅ = 4.49 S.D. = 0.54). (3) Experimenting with the use of a model for developing the competencies of student teachers in their professional training to become learning managers in the field of teaching Thai language, found that The post-test scores (𝑥̅ = 4.42) were significantly higher than those before the test (𝑥̅ = 3.40) at a statistical significance level of .05. The satisfaction of students with the competency model for student teacher interns towards learning management professionals, overall, found that students were most satisfied with the model (𝑥̅ = 4.60 S.D. = 0.50). (4) The presentation of the development model for student teachers' competence to become a learning management expert in Thai language teaching was found to be at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.58, S.D. = 0.57). The acquired body of knowledge or newly gained insights includes 1) developing an understanding of competencies, 2) collaborative learning through the exchange of experiences, 3) hands-on practice enabling students to design and manage Active Learning, and 4) continuous evaluation and professional growth with pre- and post-assessment of competencies.
