THE NEED FOR ADVICE AMONG STUDENTS AT FACULTY OF BUSINESS Bu ADMINISTRATION AND SERVICE INDUSTRY KING MONGKUT’S UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY OF NORTH BANGKOK

Advisors are assigned to give advice to students, with the determination to guide them to success in their studies. Students' need for advice from their advisors is necessary so that they can give advice efficiently. This research aimed to 1) study the need for advice among students at the Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry and 2) compare personal factors on the need for advice among students at the Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry. The population and the samples in this research included students at the Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry, randomized to 260 students. The research instrument was the questionnaire. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, SD, and one-way ANOVA.
The results revealed that, regarding Objective 1, students needed academic advice the most. Advice that was highly needed included student development, relationships with students, and providing assistance. Regarding Objective 2, according to the comparison of the need for advice, it was found that the need for advice among students of different genders was not significantly different (p > 0.05). The need for advice among students in different years of study and with different GPA was significantly different (p < 0.05).
