TEACHER - STUDENT: AUTHORITARIANISM IN RELATIONSHIP AND ERROR OF BODY OF KNOWLEDGE’ TRANSMITTANCE

Abstract

               This article aims to present a topic: Teacher - Student: Authoritarianism in relationship and error of body of knowledge’ transmittance which focuses on questioning of authoritarianism in relationship occurring between student and teacher in educational institution. This pattern of relationship which probably seems to be pure relationship, is built from mythology, discourse including rituals and still exists until now. However, its intensive meaning shows that many of Thai educational institutions reproduce some state’s political ideology and blend in people’s lives perfectly. This factor affects to students’ learning directly. The relationship between teacher and student is ranked in upper and lower position; teacher receives privileges offer and gets treated as holy and respectful person in both concrete and ritual. This is a reason the teacher can force and guide the student formally without being questioned against his instruction and behavior. This kind of relationship is reproduced by cultural and political mechanism perfectly.
                This article focuses on a theory of Hegemony by Antonio Gramsci to analyze and point out society for acknowledging these outstanding topics; 1.Error of body of knowledge’ transmittance by Marxist humanism of Antonio Gramsci 2.Focusing on Authoritarianism of Thai educational institution with Gramsci’s theory related to structure & individual relationship 3.Theory of Hegemony and mechanism of Authoritarianism in relationship between teacher and student of body knowledge’ transmittance.
