THE COMPETENCIES DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF LECTURER RESEARCH AFFILIATING GOVERNMENT IN UPPER NORTHERN

Abstract

              This research is a study of the competency development guidelines research of university instructor in upper northern with the objectives: 1) To study general conditions regarding research competencies of the university instructors in upper northern Group. 2) To study the guidelines for the development of research competencies of the university instructors in upper northern Group. The research process is divided into 2 steps: Namely: 1) Study the general condition of the research competencies of the lecturers 2.)Study guidelines for the development of research competencies of the lecturers.The first step use the survey data with the general condition questionnaire of the research competencies lecturers, academic administrators, lecturers director of the Center, and research experts of university instructors in upper northern Group. The general condition of the research competencies of professors


             The results of this research found that


                General conditions of the research competencies of professors in overall picture at high level ( = 4.20, S.D. = 0.04) when considering each item, it was found that the respondents with knowledge and understanding about the searching information using computer or internet information ( = 4.35, S.D. = 0.67), subordinates the lecturers have knowledge about writing research reports, ie ( = 4.35, S.D. = 0.67).


             The competency of research on attitude of the lecturers found that the overall picture at the level ( = 2.98, S.D. = 0.17),doing research helps develop, your knowledge and abilities fully ( = 4.26, S.D. = 0.76). 


          Research competencies in knowledge of the lecturersfound that the motivation the overall picture is at the level ( = 4.02, S.D.= 0.14),when considering each item, it is found that, the institution has announced policy for the lecturers to do research, and recommend to the operation at the level ( = 4.26, S.D. = 0.71)          


             The study results of guidelines for the development of research competencies of public instructorsGuidelines for the development of research competencies to create knowledge for the lecturers. Universities that are recognized as being of high quality, partly because of quality research management should provide mechanism of help system. From the mentor or consultant system instructive for advice, promote and support the lecturers to receive research practice from experts in various fields that are both internal and external. 


             Guidelines for the development of research competencies in order to create attitudes towards lecturers found that they should create the awareness of lecturers’ research, should create values for lecturers’ research to University professor must focus on research in direction and must seriously pay attention to that research methodology which direction of research Guidelines for development of research competencies to motivate the lecturers found that the factors causes, needs, research competencies for the lecturers ,the first priority is to determine guidelines for research developmentthen study the conceptual framework, policy, vision, strategy of the country and the clearly direction of research support of the agency. The institution must have strategic plan for lecturers’ development to be a guideline for academic development, supporting lecturers to access funding sources and the competencies to motivate the lecturers is considered the most important that is associated with achievement and work efficiency, because the motivation will change the behavior of person the national strategies and directions for supporting research  .
