THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CURRICULUM TO PREPARE FOR BEING A BUDDHIST MISSIONARY MONK FOR NOVICES

Abstract

              The purposes of this research were 1. To develop the curriculum to prepare for being a
Buddhist missionary monk for novices 2. To study the result of using the curriculum to prepare for being a Buddhist missionary monk for novices. The samples were 30 voluntary novices studying in high school in Lampang. The research tools were the curriculum to prepare for being a Buddhist missionary monk for novices and curriculum guide. The data analyses were mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test dependent.
               The results found that; The curriculum consisting in 1. problems and necessities 2.
curriculum principle 3. objectives 4. curriculum structure 5. learning activities 6. teaching duration 7. participants 8. teaching aids 9. assessment and evaluation. The curriculum had appropriateness at the level of the highest (x̅ = 4.63, S.D. = 0.52) and the curriculum guide also had appropriateness at the level of the highest. (x̅ = 4.71, S.D. = 0.39). The results of using the curriculum: The novices’ posttest scores were statically higher than pretest scores at the level of .05
