Abstract

The current of Consumerism and modernization that pushes into a rural society through various media in a capitalist system that encourages consumers to buy unnecessary, luxuries, and non-quality products selling in the country which makes farmers have more expenditure increased and have less of self-sufficient. Since, consumption is according to current of advertising which has the production base that is located outside the community, and it makes the community living changed. The community Economic has to rely more on market systems. The current consumerism under capitalism comes with new values of life in living which affects the farmers in areas of expenditure have increased. Combine with the monoculture production base or the production of export-oriented, it makes the self-sufficient in terms of four factors diminish, thought, cultural consumption caused by the expansion of the capitalist system of production that leads to change or transform into material culture that can become the consumer goods that can be traded.
