People’s Perception in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya to ASEAN Community

Abstract

ASEAN turn into ASEAN Community in December 31, 2015 that integrate with three pillars : ASEAN Socio-Cultural pillar, ASEAN Economics pillar and ASEAN Political Security pillar are fully range interest in Thailand. Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province is the World Heritage Site that tourists’ favorite destination and outskirt surround by many industrial estate where ethnically diverse people inhabitant and working. Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya citizens will facelabor competition after ASEAN community, still be a good host to welcome growing ASEAN visitors.

            The result reveal that people perception on ASEAN Economics pillar show high level, people perception on ASEAN Socio-Cultural pillar and people perception on ASEAN Political Security pillar show moderate level. The people have high score of knowledge and comprehension for simple and easy of three pillar ASEAN questions, but low score in difficult and specific questions. The people have very low score of knowledge and comprehension in ASEAN Political Security pillar questions. People received most of ASEAN information from television, newspaper and government official. Following with internet/website, radio and magazine. People use ASEAN information for updated of the world situation, for discussion with another people and for improve their behavior.
