ELDERLY WELL-BEING DEVELOPMENT OF THE ELDERS IN KHUENUBOLRATANA SUB-DISRICT, UBOLRATANA DISTRICT, KHONKAEN PROVINCE

Abstract
This research is survey research with 3 objectives namely; 1) to study the personal factors of the elders in Khuenubolratana sub-district, Ubolratana district, Khonkaen province, 2) to study elderly well-being development of the elders in Khuenubolratana sub-district, Ubolratana district, Khonkaen province, and 3) to study the suggestion to develop elderly well-being of the elders in Khuenubolratana sub-district,Uborat district, Khonkaen province. The researchers collected the data from 299 elderly sampling respondents by questionnaires and analyzed the data by content analysis and descriptive statistic; percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The results were as follow:
Most of the elders, 53.70 percent, were female, and 46.30 percent were male. 50.70 percent of the respondents are age between 60-69 years old, and 73.40 percent were married. The respondents, 38.0 percent, were graduated primary school. 34.10 percent were illiterate, but 16.60 percent of the respondent having no degree of education were literate. Most of them, 34.90 percent, were unemployment, 61.60 percent of the respondents received elderly allowance. 42.40 percent of the respondents earned lower than 5,000 bath/moth.
The overall four aspects of elderly well-being development was at high mean level( 4.04). The elders were healthy and got moral support to live in the society, and they did their work by themselves. They applied Dhamma to use in their daily life to resolve their problems and live happily. They faced the problem about their right when they went to receive state welfare due to their aging. So, concerned public organizations should to develop well-being for the elders for their healthy physic and mentality, and support cognition and memory to protect and delay dementia with proper methods.
