Abstract

               Hari Punchai Klong Niras is the first Klong Niras in Thai literature which is the valuable in the art created language, the characteristics of verse is the quatrain (ancient poetry), there are many languages being mixed such as Pali, Sanskit, Khmer, ancient Lanna language. Hari Punchai Klong Niras is assumed that it was written in the year of Maeng Phao, 879 in Thai Minor Era which was matched 2060 Buddhist Era (B.E.) and didn’t know the poets exactly but he was an aristocracy in the royal court at that time. The objectives for writing were to perform the emotion of the poet for describing the beautiful verse because of the journey which was separated from the address temporarily and felt sad the lover behind and to reflect the view point of the poets for recording the journey that had met among the trip from Chiang Mai to Phra That Hari Punchai, Lumphun for worshipping  Phra That. From the route of journey  started from the chanting script Rattana Tri (Three Gems), telling the date and time for writing and mentioned the separating from the beloved lady at Chiang Mai to worship Phra That at Muang Hari Punchai, before the voyaging, he had taken leave of the Sihing Buddha Image and had made a wish Phra Mang Ratch (King Mang Rai), taken leave of the Emerald Buddha Image. When he had taken a trip to  other places and found something, he would had described the love bewailing all the way till to Muang Hari Punchai, he had paid respect to Phra That as his intention. He had described Phra That, celebrated Phra That, then had taken leave of Phra That and back to Chiang Mai.


            The comparative route was from the past to present in Chiang Mai province to Lumphun province which the distance was from Wat Phra Sing to Wat Phra That Hari Punchai about 34.2 Kilometer long. Klong Niras Hari Punchai would reflect the appreciation I literature, history, archeology, religion and culture. It regarded as this Klong Niras Hari Punchai was an important guide book which was able to promote and develop tourism route following the trace of Niras and for developing the economic of the people in the community
