Abstract

The research on the development of English language teaching innovations using the Creative and Innovative Learning technique for high school students in schools within the Faculty of Education Development Network in Ayutthaya Province aims to achieve the following objectives: 1) to explore the learning management process based on the Creative and Innovative Learning approach as a best practice in collaboration with the Faculty of Education development network schools. 2) to investigate the innovation in English language learning management using the Creative and Innovative Learning technique in collaboration with the Faculty of Education development network schools for high school students in the educational service area of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The researchers conducted a qualitative study grounded in educational concepts and theories to develop innovations in English language instruction through the Creative and Innovative Learning approach for high school students. This research is a qualitative study.

The findings revealed that:

  • The Active Learning instructional approach aligns with the principles of

constructivism, which emphasizes learner-centered education. This approach prioritizes the learning process over mere content acquisition, allowing learners to actively construct knowledge through hands-on experiences with diverse media and activities. The teacher plays a supportive role as a facilitator and guide. Such a learning model fosters higher-order thinking skills, including analysis, synthesis, and evaluation, thereby enabling learners to connect and apply knowledge effectively in various real-world contexts.

  • In terms of English language instructional innovation, a learning management plan

was developed based on the Creative and Innovative Learning technique. The instructional plan consists of three units as follows: Unit 1: Where Are You From?, Unit 2: Nouns, and Unit 3: Tourism and Services. Each unit incorporates the Torrance model of creative thinking, which includes six stages: 1) Introduction to the lesson and fact-finding, 2) Problem identification, 3) Idea generation, 4) Idea evaluation and solution finding, 5) Acceptance of results, 6) Feedback and idea refinement. This instructional innovation represents a best practice that can be adapted and implemented across schools within the teacher education development network to enhance the quality and effectiveness of English language learning processes.
