MORALE IN PERFORMANCE OF POLICE OFFICERS, YANNAWA BANGKOK METROPOLITAN POLICE STATION

Abstract
This study aims to (1) examine the level of work morale among police officers stationed at the Yannawa Metropolitan Police Station in Bangkok and (2) analyze the factors influencing their work morale. This research employs a quantitative approach, with the study population comprising commissioned and non-commissioned police officers stationed at the Yannawa Metropolitan Police Station, totaling 156 officers. A sample of 154 officers was selected using purposive sampling. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research findings revealed that: (1) the overall morale level of police officers at Yannawa Metropolitan Police Station, Bangkok, was high ( = 3.63). When considering individual aspects, the average scores, ranked from highest to lowest, were as follows: career advancement opportunities ( = 4.31), facilities ( = 4.12), sense of belonging to the organization ( = 3.86), suitability of knowledge and skills for the job position ( = 3.72), adequacy of salary and special income ( = 3.53), job security ( = 3.52), relationship between superiors and subordinates (= 3.48), organizational welfare ( = 3.44), and job characteristics ( = 2.73), respectively, and (2) factors influencing the morale of police officers at Yannawa Metropolitan Police Station, Bangkok, were identified. Specifically, the adequacy of salary and special income, organizational welfare, and career advancement opportunities were the top three factors that significantly impacted the morale of police officers at the station.
