THE TRANSFORMATION LEADERSHIP IN DIGITAL AGE OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN BUENG KUM DISTRICT UNDER THE BANGKOK METROPOLITAN ADMINISTRATORS

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) examine the digital-era transformational leadership of school administrators in the Bueng Kum District under under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and (2) explore approaches for developing such transformational leadership among these administrators. The study employed a mixed methods research design. The sample consisted of 189 school administrators and teachers during the 2024 academic year, as well as 8 purposively selected experts for in-depth interviews. The research instruments included a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.92 and a semi-structured interview protocol. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.


The research Findings found that;


  • The transformational digital-age leadership of school administrators in

Bueng Kum District, Under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, was found to be at a high level across all dimensions. Ranked from highest to lowest, the dimensions are: technological competence, digital culture creation, vision, digital leadership, and digital technology management skills.


  • The proposed guidelines for developing transformational digital-age

leadership among school administrators in Bueng Kum District include the following key recommendations: (1) School administrators should possess a clear and inspiring vision, promote staff participation, support skill development, and utilize digital technology to foster sustainable organizational growth. (2) Technological infrastructure should be modernized and secured by providing appropriate devices, implementing cloud systems, enhancing cybersecurity, and conducting personnel training to reduce the digital divide. (3) Digital skills among personnel should be enhanced, and the use of e-Learning and blended learning approaches should be encouraged in teaching and learning processes, alongside creating a conducive environment for learning and innovation. (4) Digital technologies such as ERP, MIS, AI, and Data Analytics should be integrated into school management to improve data handling, instructional quality, and communication efficiency. (5) A digital culture should be cultivated within the organization by provisioning appropriate technologies, enhancing teacher competencies, promoting online learning platforms, and developing the infrastructure necessary for effective technological integration.
