ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION MODELTO ENHANCE TEACHER INNOVATION IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE SECONDAY EDUCATION AREA OF BANGKOK AREA 1

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) investigate the current conditions and needs of academic administration for enhancing teachers’ innovation in educational management in schools under the Office of the Secondary Education Area 1; 2) develop an academic administration model to enhance teachers’ innovation in educational management; 3) evaluate the quality of the developed model; and 4) examine the outcomes of implementing the model. The study employed a mixed-methods research design. The sample consisted of 264 school administrators and teachers, while 11 experts served as key informants. The research instruments included questionnaires, interview forms, and evaluation forms. Data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, needs analysis, and content analysis.
The findings revealed that: 1) the current state of academic administration for enhancing teachers’ innovation in educational management was at a moderate level, whereas the desired state was at the highest level, with overall needs at a moderate level; 2) the academic administration model comprised two main components: six aspects of academic administration, namely school curriculum development, learning process development, instructional management, assessment and evaluation and credit transfer, educational research for quality development, and development of educational media, innovation, and technology; and the POLC administrative process, consisting of Planning (P), Organizing (O), Leading (L), and Controlling (C), which supported the enhancement of teachers’ innovation and educational quality; 3) the developed model was evaluated as being at the highest level of accuracy and appropriateness; and 4) following implementation, the model was found to be highly feasible and beneficial in enhancing instructional innovation in secondary schools.
