RESERVOIR TOURISM INNOVATION FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DELOPMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic article examined reservoir tourism innovation as a mechanism for sustainable tourism development. It aimed to synthesize innovative approaches to tourism development through the creation and improvement of tourism products and services, the development of new markets and marketing strategies, the expansion of distribution channels, and organizational transformation. These innovations were expected to enhance tourism competitiveness and tourist satisfaction. Reservoir-based tourism was conceptualized beyond scenic appreciation by utilizing reservoirs as platforms for activities integrating ecological resources, local knowledge, and cultural heritage. Such innovation was regarded as a strategic mechanism for transforming reservoirs into sources of natural and cultural capital that contributed to long-term sustainability.
The findings indicated that sustainable tourism development required strategic planning across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Public and private sectors increasingly recognized the significance of sustainable development indicators, which encouraged paradigm shifts in national development planning. Accordingly, development strategies were oriented toward an integrated and inclusive approach based on the principle of “leaving no one behind.” This approach emphasized the equitable enhancement of quality of life while promoting balanced and sustainable development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
