The Success of Highway Accidents Reduction Policy Implementation: A Case the Highway from Bangkok to Nakornratchasima

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the condition of using vehicles on the highway from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima province: 2) to study factors influencing the success in implementing     the policy to reduce highway accidents from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima province: and 3) to study the guidelines for reducing highway accidents from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima province. The instrument used for data collection for this research was the structured interview form. This research was quantitative research consisting of key informants, including people who involved in the accident reduction policy in the highway area. people who involved in the highway accident reduction policy implementation and the people who have interest in the highway accident reduction policy. the data were collected for content analysis. The results revealed that the way to develop a policy to reduce highway accidents to perform effective, Governments should to clearly define policies for delegating authority, budget, and personnel to local government organizations to bring policy into action with greater efficiency and effectiveness. Because, since the present local authorities have more power to promote and manage problems.
