Work environment affecting quality of life of personnel at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

The objectives of this research were to study 1) the level of work environment and quality of work life of personnel at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, and 2) the work environment factors affecting the quality of work life of the personnel. The sample group consisted of 278 personnel selected by stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that 1) the work environment and quality of work life overall were at a high level, with means of 4.42 and 4.24 respectively. The Physical Aspect, a component of the work environment, received the highest evaluation (ðĨĖ =4.51), while Welfare and Benefits received the lowest (ðĨĖ =4.26). For the quality of work life, Participation and Relationships with Others received the highest evaluation (ðĨĖ =4.37), while Adequate and Fair Compensation received the lowest (ðĨĖ =4.07), and 2) all five aspects of the work environment could explain 80.7 percent of the variance in the quality of work life with statistical significance. The four factors which significantly predicted the quality of work life were Welfare and Benefits (Îē=.311), Colleagues (Îē=.237), Supervisor (Îē=.219), and Physical Aspects (Îē=.190), whereas the Nature of the Work Performed was not a statistically significant factor.
